U – B – U!
July 28, 2010

The greatest calling on your life is to be the best you there is.  Galatians 6:4 – one of my favorite verses – set me free to be the best me I can be: But let each one examine his own work, and then he will have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.   In examining myself, I had to stop looking at other people, comparing myself to them and with what I considered to be ideal.  Something inside of me made me think that I wasn’t smart enough.  In reality, I don’t have the ability (or the desire) to be a brain surgeon or a judge.  I am not an analytical type of ... read more
An attitude of forgiveness
July 20, 2010

If we don’t live with an attitude that causes us to be quick to forgive and release the people involved, we will carry unforgiveness around with us.  It will affect everything we do and it can infect the spirit of our home and life.             If you want to have an attitude of joy, peace, and happiness in your life, you have to learn to have an attitude of forgiveness.  Many times we are offended by our family, our relatives, or our friends, not because they purposely tried to hurt us, but because they innocently hurt us.  ... read more
Does God know you?
July 14, 2010

Does God know who you are? Does He know that you will train your children to follow Him and keep His ways?  Have you considered that the choices you are making today will affect generations to come?  I was reading a study this not long ago.  It was a comparative study of two families and how each family’s choices affected future generations.  One followed an ungodly man who did not believe in Jesus Christ and who refused to take his children to church.  The other study followed the family of the great preacher, Jonathan Edwards.       &nb ... read more
A Leader of People
July 07, 2010

When you decide to be an effective witness, you are also deciding to be a leader.  You are deciding to be the one who sets the example for those around you.  As you minister to people, they will do the things you do and they will say the things you say. An effective witness is someone who has made the decision to stand up and be a leader in the body of Christ.  There are many people who come to church all the time, but they have never made a decision to be a leader.  If you want to reach people and change their lives forever, you must take on the responsibility o ... read more
Protection through the storms of life
June 29, 2010

Have you ever been caught outside in the rain without an umbrella? I have and it’s no fun! Many of us make sure we are prepared for bad weather, keeping our umbrella or rain boots handy, but do we make sure we have the protection of God’s Word ready for those times we face the storms of life?   Financial, health, family, relationship and career storms will come and go in life, but we will overcome when we have the protection of God’s unchanging Word in our hearts, in our mouths and at our fingertips. In Joshua 1:8 He has promised that when you meditate on the Word of God and keep His W ... read more
Are You Rejoicing In Yourself?
June 23, 2010

One day, when I was in Bible College, I was sitting on my bed reading my Bible. As I was reading, the Holy Spirit illuminated a scripture in Galatians to me. It was like a light bulb went off in my head and I could clearly understand what this scripture was teaching me. But let each one examine his own work, and then he will have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another. (Galatians 6:4) There has never been a scripture in my Christian walk that has affected me more than this scripture. That day, it was as if God took an arrow, pierced my heart, and said, “This is for you. I want yo ... read more
Adopted by God!
June 09, 2010

One of my favorite memories is when I was just a young teenager. My mom came into our kitchen and asked my two sisters and me what we thought about our family adopting a baby from Korea. We were instantly excited as we yelled, “Yes! Yes! Yes!” Only a few months later, I was holding my new baby sister in my arms, loving her with all of my heart. To this day, she is one of my dearest friends and greatest blessings from God.   Even as excited as we were that day in the kitchen, God was so much more excited the day you accepted Jesus into your heart and became adopted into His family. After ... read more
Are You Wise?
May 24, 2010

As Christians, we are all called to win the lost to Christ. The Bible says when we win souls we are wise. Proverbs 11:30 says, “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he who wins souls is wise.”    How many of us know people who are not saved? How many of us have friends, relatives, co-workers and neighbors who don’t know the love of God and have not accepted Jesus Christ as their personal savior? What do we do about it? Is it our “job” to get them into heaven? I think God is telling us something else in this verse besides, “Go get ‘em!”   A person who wins soul ... read more
Wisdom for Life’s Journey
May 12, 2010

Wouldn’t it be great that if when we become Christians our minds were instantly renewed to God’s ways? Too bad, but it just does not happen that way! If we want to continue to grow we need to challenge our thinking and ask God to show us His ways. There are times we each need to ask ourselves what the spirit of the Lord wants to teach us... how to change our thinking… how grow as a man or woman of God. We need to ask ourselves, how will I be different from what I am right now when I am 20 or 30 or 40 or 50 or older? In the area of our thinking about finances many of us were raised to love mo ... read more
Simple Financial Wisdom Part 1
May 11, 2010

1 Tim 6:10 “For the love of Money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from their faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows” The love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Greed is a part of dealing with every one of us in the financial realm. Nobody is immune to greediness; nobody is immune to wanting, wanting, wanting! You could say that you don’t want that or this, but if anybody started delving into your heart and if you were honest in your life and heart. Many of us act as martyrs, in the area of finances but it was false modesty ... read more
Beyond the Basics
May 11, 2010

As Christians our highest calling is to win the lost to Christ. If God strategically placed someone across your path who did not know Jesus, would you be able to lead them in prayer to become saved? Could you share with them a scripture about salvation? So many of us would rather look the other away and avoid this kind of situation because we are afraid. Trust me, I understand! The first time I helped someone get saved I was shaking in my boots! But we can’t let our own insecurities stop us from being the light of Jesus. If we don’t speak up…who will? The Bible teaches when we win souls we are ... read more
I thought you only got Wisdom from gray hair! Part II
March 29, 2010

Proverbs 31:26 “She opens her mouth with skillful and godly Wisdom, and on her tongue is the law of kindness-giving counsel and instruction.”   The word, “skillful” means, having a great ability and expertise that comes from training and practice. Part of walking in wisdom to become skillful we must allow ourselves to be trained. We need to learn how to work in certain areas. Through the practice of doing something over and over and over, we learn how to do it. It is as simple as that. In the natural there are different examples, such as, when our children are learning how to walk, they ... read more
I THOUGHT YOU ONLY GOT WISDOM WITH GRAY HAIR
February 04, 2010

Proverbs 31:26 “She opens her mouth with skillful and godly Wisdom, and in her tongue is the law of kindness-giving counsel and instruction.” When we are godly women we can open our mouths and depend on the fact that we are going to speak the wisdom of God.  We always think we have got to grow before we can open our mouths and have anything wise to say.  We have not looked at what God has done in us.  God says, “When a virtuous woman opens her mouth, skillful and godly wisdom comes out.”  We can count on skillful and godly wisdom coming out of our mouths. ARE YOU SPIRITUALLY PREPARED FOR YOUR DAY?

Proverbs 31:15 “She rises while yet it is night and gets spiritual food for her household...”  The Word of God is spirit, not law.  When it says she rises while it is night and gets spiritual food for her household, it means that spiritually we are ready, we are prepared, we are in touch with God on a regular, consistent basis.  When we are going about our day, we are prepared spiritually for the day. Some people get up in the morning, race to get out the door and three hours later they remember God.  They have no consciousness of who God is and so in trying to live life ... read more

Galatians 6:1 “Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted.” We, who are Christians, have an understanding and inner strength to give of ourselves to help those involved in problems.  It is so important to try to believe the best about people and not get involved in the gossip that goes around about others.  It is so easy to jump in on gossip.  The Word says, “You who are spiritual restore them, lest you also fall.”  Women sometimes are the worst in lovin ... read more

Not only thought this way, but acted this way. Is this God’s way of thinking? Joy in Every Circumstance!!!

Many people think of joy as simply happiness that comes and goes as situations of life change. But joy is not just happiness, it is constant. It stems from the peace within you. Don’t let the bad circumstances of life steal your joy and affect your life. Let God inside you keep that joy alive so that it can radiate to everyone!!!

Hey pals, how are my new friends?  I plan to write a “Word to Win’ weekly.  I am so excited to be a part of your success in life.  So each Tuesday or Wednesday I will be posting a new, special Word for the week.  Help me to spread this God Word by passing it on!! I also plan on having my pals help me read and respond to any personal comments, needs and prayers that you may have.  Together we can make a difference in our world for Christ! Walk Strong!!
