As Christians, we are all called to win the lost to Christ. The Bible says when we win souls we are wise. Proverbs 11:30 says, “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he who wins souls is wise.”
How many of us know people who are not saved? How many of us have friends, relatives, co-workers and neighbors who don’t know the love of God and have not accepted Jesus Christ as their personal savior? What do we do about it? Is it our “job” to get them into heaven? I think God is telling us something else in this verse besides, “Go get ‘em!”
A person who wins souls to Christ must be wise. We must use godly wisdom in how we go about winning the lost. How often do we really think about how to approach people in a way that they will want to open up and talk to us about Christ? Although it can be, it isn’t always the “hard sell” that will bring someone into the Kingdom of God. Sometimes we have to take the time to love, listen, pray and show the kindness and gentleness of God. It may be a touch, a kindness or a few simple words about God’s love that will draw a person to Christ. The method of how a person opens up to the message of God’s love and salvation through Jesus Christ will be as different as the number of people who will receive Him.
This month at Christian Faith Center, our Cherish Fashion Show was one incredible way God used to bring in the lost. We had 5000 ladies attend, with 1,000 first time visitors that the ladies of Christian Faith Center brought into the house. 531 lives were eternally changed when they prayed the prayer of salvation!
Let’s not limit ourselves or God to thinking there is only one way to win the lost. Let’s be wise people who pray and seek God in every situation. I believe you will have His wisdom in winning your world for Christ.
